Traffic monitoring in Castel Romano

THE PROJECT

Consorzio Castel Romano has been the first test plant of Sky Light System technology for traffic monitoring.

A very first pilot of Sky Light Monitoring System was installed in November 2008. In the beginning, it was made up of two monitoring sections. Each section had two lanes dedicated to each way. The total amount of devices was 8 sensors and 2 control units to receive and store data.

After some excellent test results, the customer signed an agreement with Nabla Quadro to obtain a continuous service of traffic monitoring in its adjacent streets.

Mr Carlo Scarchilli, president at Castel Romano Consortium, says:

“Thanks to the technology provided from Nabla Quadro we can be constantly updated on traffic flows circulating in our Consortium. This allows us to plan and assess the best possible expansion activities of our Consortium”.

As a matter of fact, having access to this kind of information allows the Consortium to provide data to the City Council about mobility in its jurisdictional area. At the same time, the Consortium can be acquainted with its customer flows to optimize management strategies.

Today the system is composed of 5 monitoring sections managed by the same number of control units, which are located in the streets surrounding the Consortium. The total amount is 20 sensors.
