Gate access control

THE PROJECT

Airport of Milano Malpensa started a trial project to integrate Sky Light Sensor into its automated system for gate access control. The system manages the access to a parking area dedicated to taxi cabs.

The gate is composed of two barriers to increase security. When a car arrives, the sensor changes its status to “occupied” and the camera turns on to check the license plate number. If the vehicle is authorised to enter, the gate opens automatically. The sensors monitor the position of the car until it completely passes through the gate.

The sensors communicate with the controller through the Sky Light Interface Card.
