Sky Light Parking Sensor

Sky Light Parking Sensor is a wireless sensor for parking bay occupancy monitoring.

These in-ground sensors are installed in the pavement, typically one per parking bay. The sensors are able to determine whether a parking bay is vacant or occupied in real time. Data are sent to a LoRaWAN network server. Data coming from the sensors can be used and displayed in infinite ways, using available applications or developing solutions independently thanks to our protocols for data decoding.

Sky Light Parking Sensor uses three different technologies to detect vehicles:

  • ambient light variation sensor;
  • active infrared sensor;
  • magnetic field sensor.

A unique algorithm combines all the three measurements in real time to give the most accurate data available.

Sky Light Parking Sensor may also be built with a BLE module inside. This module can be set to one of the following modes:

  1. beacon mode to be captured by third party apps for user authorisation;
  2. scanner mode (only paired with our Parking Angel app or hardware token).

Sky Light Parking Sensor has been designed with advanced features that make it unique and effective. Even though it is an in-ground sensor, it has an external box that is placed in the hole drilled which has been drilled in the pavement. The sensor is fixed inside this box with security screws. This special feature makes it easy to replace a sensor in case of road maintenance works.

In addition, Sky Light Parking Sensor can be refurbished at the end of its battery life, so to extend the product’s life cycle.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Building mobile applications for users to guide drivers towards vacant spots near their destination

Using data to check the correct payment of paid parking by users

Using data to monitor and manage reserved parking bays (e.g. loading, buses, parking bays for disabled people, EV charging stations)

Monitoring possible presence of vehicles parked in no-parking zones

Monitoring the occupation time of each bay in time-restricted parking (disc parking, parking at airports)

Using data to book parking in advance in private parking lots

Evaluation of the occupation rate, average parking time, spatial distribution of occupied/vacant bays, revenue from paid parking

Identification of the best parking tariffs based on parking needs analysis and availability in each area
