THE PROJECT
A monitoring system has been installed in the area of a shopping mall to count vehicles going in and out of the mall parking lot.
Thanks to the data collected, it is possible to observe the distribution of traffic flows in space and time within the parking lot, as well as the occupation rate of different sectors.
Having access to this kind of information allows the store to provide data to the City Council about mobility trends and situations in its area.
The system is composed of three monitoring sections, each of which is made up of 4 sensors. The total amount is 12 Sky Light Sensors. Moreover, these monitoring sections are energetically autonomous, because they are supplied by photovoltaic panels and battery storage to face solar irradiance insufficiency.
