THE PROJECT
The Smart Services Cooperation Lab was created as a Centre of Excellence based in Bologna in December 2009. It is the result of a collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Public Administration and Innovation, the National Research Council (CNR) and Telecom Italy S.p.A., to develop innovative joint solutions for the implementation of e-government, as well as the dissemination and use of ICT services for citizens, Public Administrations and companies.
The tests of Sky Light wireless sensors started at CNR laboratories in Bologna in November 2013. The installation consists of 6 Sky Light Sensors in parking version, one Repeater and one Access Point.
The system has been under test for a year, and the sensors have scored excellent results. This lead to the second phase of the project, which was installing Sky Light Systems for parking and traffic monitoring in a real urban environment to evaluate their performance.
